International Women’s Day (IWD) is marked on March 8 every year.

In different regions of the World to focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women to a celebration for women’s economic, political, and social achievements.

It is a day to reflect on the achievements of women and to celebrate the progress made to advance women’s equality.

International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.

The theme is, “Make it Happen” encouraging effective action for advancing and recognizing women.

SAHR WARU is one of the Non Profit Based Organizations which has been working for Minority and Hindu Dalit Women at 4 Urban Poor Pockets from Ahmedabad and 14 Rural areas from Kheda and Gandhinagar districts to empower them and spreading knowledge about Peace, Gender equality and Social Justice. Every year SAHR WARU tend to celebrate the International Women’s Day at the working areas to emphasize how Gender Equality, Empowerment of women, women’s full enjoyment of Human  Rights, the eradication of Poverty and giving importance and motivation to  Girl Child Education are  essential to economic and social development through Group Discussion, Poster Exhibition, Playing Drama/Skit, Chart Presentation, Songs, Dance, and Railies.
